All-Mountain snowboards are designed for the rider who needs one board to handle a wider range of ride styles and terrain. While an All Mountain board may not perform as well in deep powder as a powder specific snowboard

Clients Brief

The goal is to create a spring-loaded hinge mechanism that attaches to the tail end of the snowboard. This hinge is designed to be used to propel the snowboard a couple of inches off the ground. Through this, a rider can essentially bounce their way into downhill terrain and out of the flat ground.

An attachment mechanism that attaches to the tail end of the snowboard and operates with a spring-loaded hinge. It is a versatile accessory designed to fit snowboards of a number of sizes and types.

Load distribution.

When the accessory is equipped to be used to propel the snowboard off a flat to steep terrain the arching support carries the load of the rear weight of the snowboard.

This is a mechanism that operates on multiple torsional springs to assist in making snowboards more maneuverable while riding.

A  pull handle mechanism to release the spring-loaded shaft to move into the launch phase under the snowboard.

The Iterations.

The product development process was guided by several prototypes with varying degrees of accuracy.

Various prototypes at varying degrees of fidelities were created for the development that would guide the product development process. To accomplish the desired results, important 3D printed models, sketches, CAD files, and design changes were done.
